I first became fascinated with glass at the age of 17 when I viewed the stained glass windows at the cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris. I took my first stained glass class in 1990 and began fusing glass in 2004. I love the transformation that takes place from placing a cold piece in the kiln and with heat, creating an artistic form. I consider my glassmaking an ongoing class that has new techniques to explore and learn. If a project does not turn out as expected, it becomes an element to be used and recreated again. I often gaze at the scenery sky for inspiration of colors. In the Pacific NW we tend to have many days with gray skies which make us more appreciative of a Vibrant Sky.
