About OGG

The Oregon Glass Guild (OGG) is a non-profit membership organization that strives to unite and inform Oregon’s multi-disciplined art glass community. Techniques and media used by members include acid etching, stained glass, fusing, glass blowing, glass casting, painting on glass, lampworking, glass mosaics, neon, sandblasting and more.

Our Mission

Established in 2000, OGG’s mission is to support Oregon’s glass artists and stimulate the exchange of information, ideas and knowledge about the diverse field of glass art among glass artists, art galleries, business interests and the general public. Membership is open to all.

  • Promote the public appreciation of and understanding about glass
  • Help member artists succeed in their endeavors, encouraging emerging artists
  • Provide the opportunity for exchange of experiences and opinions through discussion meetings, demonstrations, and expositions
  • Help member artists with business and management questions through networking, discussion and classes

OGG was born in the mind of George Kjaer, an amateur glass blower from Eugene, Oregon. He envisioned an organization that would nurture emerging glass artists; offer opportunity to network for the established artists, while introducing the general public into the intricacies of the art of glass. Growing each year, OGG now has over 200 members representing most glass disciplines.

OGG is designed to offer the glass artist the best possible environment for growth, through networking, classes and discussion. OGG serves artists in Oregon and Southwest Washington. Information about meeting times and locations for each of the chapters can be found on the Events page.
