Welcome
to the 12th Annual Glass Gallery 2012 Show!
Once
again we are in the midst of putting on our 12th Annual Glass Gallery
show. As the show chair, I wanted to welcome you and remind you
to start producing lots of beautiful art for this event.
LOCATION:
Again we will be in Hall C of the Oregon Convention Center sharing
with Portland Bead Society, Portland Hand Weavers Guild, Guild of
Oregon Woodworkers and Creative Metal Arts Guild. This was a successful
event last year and the Chairpeople for all of these guilds have
worked hard to continue the quality we started last year.
BOOTH
FEES: Once again we find that we have had to raise our
prices for booth fees. However, it is a $20 increase on booth spaces
and $10 on corner booth fees. Things that prompted this increase
were the increased Union requirements on OCC which were transferred
to renters of the space. Electricity per booth increased and we
have agreed to provide outside security for the duration of the
show.
COMMISSION
SCHEDULE: The required commission on total sales is once
again dependent upon the hours that you work. This year there will
be a cut off date for signing up to do volunteer work. You will
need to be in touch with Lesley
Kelly prior to April 30th in order to have approved
volunteer time counted toward commission fees. Lesley and her husband
Kevin will have all the spreadsheets in order before the show as
Lesley will not be there herself. So, Kevin has graciously volunteered
his time to work the volunteer booth. However, it is your responsibility
to get in touch with Lesley/Kevin to tell them what, when or where
you will be volunteering. All volunteer
time must be pre-arranged before the 30th. Every
vendor has the opportunity to determine their own commission rate
but it must be in the spreadsheet before the show begins.
CREDIT
CARDS: OGG will again offer to handle credit card transactions.
The $10 “service fee” will be charged. There will be
a mandatory meeting on Friday morning at 8:45 to go over the system.
The credit card machine will again be in the centrally located Vendor
Assistance Booth. Volunteers manning that booth will be the only
people to process transactions.
LOAD-IN:
May 2nd from 3:00pm-8:00pm and May 3rd from 8:00am-8:00pm will be
the load in days. You will be given a time frame based upon your
selection from the application. When you come up to the loading
dock, you must have your ORANGE dock pass in the windshield of your
vehicle. Be certain to come to the Vendor Assistance Booth immediately
upon entering Hall C to get your required ORANGE name badge and
the vendor packet we will have for you.
BOOTH
SELECTION: Acceptance to the show and the assignment of
booths are, for the most part, on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Show Chair will try to accommodate everyone’s request
for booth size preference. Artists will be placed based upon the
type of work they do and in the order in which their completed application
was received. With adjustments to Hall C, we have a new floor plan.
MEMBERSHIP:
All vendors must be 2012 OGG members BEFORE your Glass
